BJP Releases Eighth List of Candidates for Lok Sabha Elections, Includes New Entrants and Notable Omissions

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its eighth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, introducing several new entrants to its roster while also making notable omissions. Among the highlights of the list was the inclusion of individuals like Bhartruhari Mahtab, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Sushil Kumar Rinku, Preneet Kaur, and former Indian ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who will be making his electoral debut from Amritsar.

However, one conspicuous absence from the list was actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol, who has previously expressed his desire to step away from electoral politics. In place of Deol, the BJP opted to field Dinesh Singh ‘Babbu’ as its candidate for the respective constituency.

The latest list of 11 candidates spans across Odisha, Punjab, and West Bengal, bringing the BJP’s total tally of declared candidates to 411 seats. With eyes set on securing over 400 Lok Sabha seats, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is gearing up for a formidable campaign as it seeks a third consecutive term in government.
